9785 passengers arrive in 104 flights since May 25

Srinagar, June 01 (KNO): As many as 9785 stranded passengers have arrived in 104 flights in Jammu & Kashmir after resumption of air traffic from May 25. Details gathered by news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reveals that 104 flights have landed at the twin airports of Jammu and Kashmir from May 25 till May 31 The domestic flight operations resumed on May 25 after remaining suspended for more than two months in wake of the Coronavirus outbreak. The officials disclosed that 9785 passengers in 104 flights have arrived at Jammu and Srinagar Airports in the last seven days. “Of them,7885 passengers have landed at Srinagar Airport in 60 flights while 1900 passengers have landed at Jammu Airport till May 31,” they said. These flights include regular commercial flights, Pawan Hans flights, Charter Air travel and Air India International flights, they informed KNO While divulging the details, the officials said that all passengers who arrived at these Airports were thoroughly screened for COVID-19 and their samples were taken for testing. They further stated that those having test reports with them were asked to be under home quarantine till mandatory 14-day period. “All the passengers were transported to their destinations at both the airports amid strict observance of all necessary preventive protocols,” they told KNO, adding that the administration ensured that all passengers use masks and follow social distancing, hand and respiratory hygiene. Besides, the officials in the administration said that over one lakh people have been evacuated from different countries and States since the lockdown in wake of the Coronavirus commenced. “Over one lakh three thousand people who were stuck outside Jammu and Kashmir were brought back to the Union Territory, stating that they were evacuated through Lakhanpur and COVID special trains,” they disclosed –(KNO)
